CodexFan is a home for authors and the readers who love their books. These rules apply to profiles, comments, comments on a paragraph, reviews, quotes, posts, author rooms, book clubs, live events and private messages.
1. Respect authors and readers
Insults, hate speech, discrimination, harassment and bullying are prohibited — towards authors, readers, translators and moderators alike. Criticise the book, not the person.
2. No spoilers without warning
Mark anything that reveals the plot as a spoiler. Comments that give away the story stay hidden until a reader chooses to open them.
3. Only share what you have the right to share
Do not upload or paste other people's works, chapters or covers, and do not share purchased or members-only chapters outside the platform. Short quotes with the source are welcome; copying is not.
4. Honest reviews and fair points
Reviews must reflect your own reading. Paid, swapped or fake reviews, multiple accounts and attempts to game challenges, leaderboards or giveaways are prohibited.
5. Respect pen names and privacy
Never try to find out or reveal an author's real identity, and never share anyone's personal information without consent. Do not post your own address or financial details in rooms or messages.
6. No inappropriate content
Content that is illegal, sexually exploits anyone, glorifies violence or misleads others is not allowed.
7. No spam or off-purpose use
Commercial advertising, chain messages and spam are not allowed, and CodexFan may not be used for dating.
8. Behave well at events
At live readings, signing days and meet-ups, follow the organiser's instructions and the same rules as online.
Reporting and enforcement
Report a violation with the "Report" button or via [e-mail]; report a copyright infringement through our notice form. Depending on severity we remove content, issue warnings, restrict features or close accounts; severe violations lead to permanent closure on the first offence. Every decision comes with its reasons and can be appealed.
